Hiram W. Johnson, Reuben Strickland and the writer on 30 December L48.
The estimated location

At the time of the observation Goade lying co-pilot,
in the right seat-of a C-l7 aircraft, altitude 500 feet. The
light appeared to pe 500 to a l000 feet higher than the aircraft.
Visibility was estimated at 30 to L0 miles, no overcast, no mocn.
Goade stated that the length of the

Additional stghting on December reported om Albuquerque. Sighting
on 6 January 1949 reported from Los Alaros Report ghting from
Kirtland Air Force Base, differing in several fentures from the usuel
received from Sandia Security. Unusual, unexplained ounds reported from
Los Alauos. Sounds apparently originated in sky over station. No aircraft .
known to have been in area.

The object was visible for about two seconds, low in the sky to the
northwest. It moved in a straight line at a high speed. looked like a

just before the alarn came in and his place was taken by The noise

wholly similar to thiat of an aircraft. Tining of movements showed a probable
duration of 1o to 15 seconds for the aerial sounds. Azimuth and elevation
readings were taken for ench estimted position of the sound.
At Jtation 390, Insnegtor vas intervieved relative to
the sounds reportod by him. said that he had not hourd the sounds re-
porbed at zolo, 20eo, or 205o, but that about tan or fifteen minutes after the
